Costa Adeje

Tenerife's most polished resort coast.

Costa Adeje is the south coast's most consistently elegant resort area, a 7-kilometre stretch of palm-lined beaches, manicured gardens and architecturally controlled hotels. It evolved in the 1990s as a deliberate luxury alternative to its older neighbour Las Américas, and the planning has paid off: every metre of beachfront is landscaped, every hotel is at least four stars, and a single seafront promenade connects the entire coast. The headline beach is Playa del Duque, but Fañabé and La Enramada are nearly as good and quieter. The dining scene has matured beyond hotel restaurants; La Caleta village now holds two Michelin stars and a dozen credible independents. Days are easy here — long mornings on the sand, lunch at a beach club, an afternoon spa, sunset cocktails facing La Gomera, dinner under string lights. The downside is that you can spend a week here without seeing the real Tenerife, so build in at least one day-trip to Teide or the north.

Atmosphere

Refined, manicured, sun-drenched. Wide promenades, designer shops, and beach clubs blur into a single elegant strip from La Caleta to Las Américas.

Best For

Honeymooners, luxury families, repeat visitors who appreciate consistency.

Where to Stay

5-star resorts (Bahía del Duque, Royal Hideaway), all-suite adults-only (GF Victoria), and serviced apartments (Baobab Suites).

Where to Eat

From Michelin-starred Talavera and San Hô to barefoot beach paellas at La Caleta and chic cocktails at El Mirador Beach Club.

Insider Tip

Walk the seafront promenade from La Caleta to Playa Fañabé at sunset — the south's most scenic 30 minutes on foot.
