What to expect
The Atlantic waters off Tenerife are part of the migration route for blue marlin, white marlin, wahoo and big-eye tuna. Half-day and full-day charters depart from Puerto Colón and Los Gigantes with experienced skippers, modern reels and IGFA certifications. Most operators run a strict catch-and-release policy on billfish. June to October is prime marlin season, with the chance of a fish over 200 kg. Even if the marlin don't bite, you'll likely catch tuna or dorado for the boat's chef to grill on the way home.
