The editor's take
Tucked between Playa de Troya and Fañabé, El Bobo is a tiny 100-metre pocket of imported golden sand that most visitors walk straight past. Its small size keeps the crowds down, the water is calm thanks to the surrounding rocks, and a single kiosk serves cold drinks and toasted sandwiches. Locals come here for a quick swim during their lunch break or to escape the crowds of the bigger beaches on either side. Sunsets are lovely from the western rocks where you can perch with a beer and watch surfers paddle home.
Insider Tip
Park at Pyramide de Arona free lot and walk down for free beach access.
