The editor's take
Las Vistas is the longest urban beach in the south, a 900-metre arc of imported golden sand connecting Los Cristianos with Las Américas. Two breakwaters create a calm bay perfect for swimming, and a fountain shoots from the sea every hour for the kids. The promenade behind is one of the busiest in Europe, lined with cafés, ice-cream parlours, and the small craft market. It lacks the elegance of nearby Del Duque, but it makes up for it in convenience: showers every 50 metres, lifeguards all day, accessible boardwalks, and dozens of dining options within five minutes' walk.
The pedestrian path west leads to the picturesque old harbour of Los Cristianos.
