The full review
On the wild north-west tip of the island, Buenavista is for travellers who want to escape Tenerife's tourist gravity. The hotel sits inside a Seve Ballesteros-designed golf course that runs to the edge of dramatic cliffs, and the surrounding scenery — the Teno mountains, banana plantations, fishing villages — feels untouched. The 113 rooms are classically decorated with a Mediterranean palette, and almost all have ocean or mountain views. The spa is excellent and rarely crowded. Dining is more limited than in the south, so guests typically venture into Garachico or Buenavista village for evening meals. Best for golfers, walkers, and travellers seeking authentic Tenerife at the edge of mass tourism.
The most authentically located 5-star hotel on the island.
